Mold Inspection

WHAT IS MOLD?

Mold is a fungus that grows in the form of multicellular filaments called hyphae.  The growth of hyphae results in discoloration and a fuzzy appearance.  Molds cause biodegradation of natural materials, which translates to damage to your property.

Many human ailments find their origins in certain types of mold.   Diseases may result from an allergic sensitivity to mold spores, from growth of pathogenic molds within the body, or from the effects of ingested or inhaled toxic compounds produced by molds.

MOLD DETECTION PROCEDURE

Inspect
Our Certified Professional Inspector® starts every inspection with a visual examination of mold's favorite hiding places, like bathrooms and basements. Don't worry, though. We'll also check other areas for signs of mold, as it could be lurking anywhere in your home.
Sample
The easiest way to determine if mold is present in your home is by air sample. We gather samples both inside and outside your home, then send them to a nationally accredited laboratory for analysis.
Analyze

Once completed, our Certified Professional Inspector® will review the lab analysis, then provide a detailed report that answers your questions: Do I have mold? What kind and how much? How serious is it?

SIGNS OF MOLD

As the EPA notes, mold can grow almost anywhere that moisture is present.  In most cases, a musty smell and black accumulation make the growth obvious.  However, mold will sometimes grow inside walls and under carpet. Since mold isn’t always visible,  it’s wise to schedule a mold inspection if a property has experienced:

Flooding

Water leaks or damage

Poor ventilation

Excessive humidity or condensation

MOLD EXPOSURE

Some people are sensitive to molds, and large amounts of fungus can cause health complications.  Young children, the elderly, and anyone with a compromised immune system are most vulnerable.  If you or a loved one is experiencing any of these symptoms, contact us today to schedule a Certified Mold Inspection:

Eye irritation

Nasal stuffiness

Skin irritation

Wheezing

Respiratory infections

Asthma
